Interior design, close to home

Based in St Albans, I design homes across Hertfordshire that feel calm, timeless and entirely your own — a considered mix of modern and traditional, built around the way you actually live.

Whether it’s a single room that needs direction, an extension waiting for a plan, or a whole-house renovation, every project begins with an in-depth consultation in your home. From there, I create photo-realistic, to-scale 3D visuals so you can see your finished space before a single decision is made — and hand your builders a clear plan they can work from with confidence.

Being local means I’m on hand for site visits, trade meetings and the details that make the difference, from Harpenden to Radlett and everywhere in between.

Hertfordshire Project — In Progress

A whole-house renovation — my own home

There’s no better test of a design process than living with it. When we bought our home in Hertfordshire, I took it back to the bones: a complete strip-out, walls re-skimmed, new flooring throughout, the loft hatch relocated and boarded, a new lighting plan, a cohesive colour scheme, bespoke window treatments and panelling in two rooms. Upstairs — the primary bedroom, home office, guest room and nursery — is now complete, with the ground floor underway.

From the very first consultation, she took the time to understand my vision, lifestyle and budget, and transformed those ideas into a space that feels both functional and stunning.

Poonam is a true visionary with a good eye for detail and style. Her CAD designs were very lifelike and helped us visualise the final outcome.

Questions

Frequently asked

How much does an interior designer cost in St Albans?

Every home and brief is different, so each project is quoted individually. Many clients start with an Initial Consultation for expert direction, then choose the level of support that suits them — from 3D visuals alone to full interior design and project management.

Do you take on whole-house renovations and extensions?

Yes. Alongside single rooms, I design whole-house renovations and extensions — planning layouts, lighting, joinery, finishes and furniture together, so the whole home flows. I’m currently completing a full renovation of my own Hertfordshire home.

Can I just have 3D visuals to give to my builder?

Absolutely. 3D Visuals is a standalone service: photo-realistic, to-scale visuals of your space that show your builder exactly what to build, and give you complete confidence before work begins.

Which areas of Hertfordshire do you cover?

I work across St Albans, Harpenden, Radlett, London Colney, Potters Bar, Borehamwood, Elstree, Bushey, Watford, Rickmansworth, Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City and Hitchin, as well as North West London. Just outside these areas? Get in touch anyway — I’d be happy to consider your project.

What happens at an Initial Consultation?

I visit you at home to understand how you live, what you love and what isn’t working. We’ll talk through your space, style, storage and practical needs, and you’ll come away with clear direction and next steps.
