The brief

This is my own home. I began with the whole of the upstairs and the hallway, taking tired, dated rooms and turning them into spaces with a cosy, boutique-hotel feel — luxurious, but made for everyday family life.

The approach

Everything started with a complete rip-out. Every wall was re-skimmed, two lofts were boarded, and one loft hatch was moved out of a bedroom and into the hallway, so the room could be designed without compromise.

I redesigned the entire lighting scheme and added panelling to two of the rooms for architectural detail. In the guest room, I designed bespoke joinery for the wardrobes and chest of drawers.

New colour schemes, furniture, window treatments and styling run through the primary bedroom, home office, guest room, nursery and hallway, so the whole floor feels considered and connected.

The result

A calm, cohesive upstairs that feels like a boutique hotel to come home to. Finished photography is coming soon.
